Oregon Ambassadors of Music

This is the year of our inception. The whole begining of the fundraising projects that led to the creation of "The Illinois Valley Youth Enrichment Association" or "IV YEA!" A local student was invited to join the Oregon Ambassadors of Music performance tour through Europe, traveling, learning and performing abroad. Fund raising work was used to help pay for the trip and allow the student to work for the trip outside of the musical practice. A big help of the fundraising was working with Krispy Kreme donuts. They offer fundraising products which sell at a lower price to allow profit to be given to the fundraising organization. The nearest Krispy Kreme location is in Beaverton Oregon. Pre sales for the donuts and then 2 trips upstate to pickup the orders and spending the next day delivering all over town and selling the extras. We also used a bake sale as a way to fundraise for this student and for this trip. The Oregon Ambassadors of Music has music teachers accross the state write in reccomendations for a couple students to participate in a tour performing choir and band music accross 6 countries in Europe. The students attend a music camp practicing songs and performing a concert for thier families before leaving on the trip. They depart and head first to London and spend 16 days traveling from England heading lastly to Germany. Sight seeing, learning, and performing in different landmarks along the way.
